NEW YORK, NY, September 02, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Vein Treatment Center Founder and Medical Director Luis Navarro, MD, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in phlebology.
Board certified in phlebology, Dr. Navarro performs varicose treatments to medically and cosmetically care for vein problems in the legs, hands, face, and breast. Some services offered include painless sclerotherapy, ultrasound, endovenous laser ablation and mini-phlebectomy.
Dr. Navarro was awarded a United States Patent for Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLT). EVLT is often the preferred method of treatment for patients as it is a minimally invasive solution for unsightly varicose veins. The treatment, which became approved in 2002, is now used worldwide.
In 1967, Dr. Navarro laid the foundation for his prosperous career by earning an MD from Universitat de Barcelona. He later became interested in phlebology while completing his residency in general surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was Chief Surgical Resident and a senior Clinical Instructor of Surgery.
A Diplomate of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Navarro also maintains affiliations with the American College of Phlebology, International Union of Phlebology, Canadian Society of Phlebology and American Society of Laser Medicine. He is also affiliated with Beth Israel Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital. He is the author of the 1988 book "No More Varicose Veins" published by Bantam Books.
