CHICAGO, IL, December 12, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karen Arp, Executive Coach/Career Transition Coach at Challenger Gray and Christmas, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Karen Arp will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.
Working as an Executive Coach/Career Transition Coach for the past 17 years at Challenger Gray and Christmas, an outplacement firm that provides customized, individualized training and coaching to professionals who have been outplaced by their companies due to downsizing, Karen Arp is constantly inspired by her deep passion to make a difference. Helping others overcome job loss, as well as other life's experiences that they deal with during that same time period, is extremely motivating and rewarding work.
In her role, Ms. Arp coaches and trains executives who have been outplaced by their companies on how to lead an effective job search by understanding the most effective interviewing techniques, how to create a successful marketing program, and then strategize with them on how to best market themselves for reemployment. As part of her job, she also travels nationally each week to meet with clients in the geographical location closest to their home resident.
"When I work with clients, it is more than just helping them survive job loss, sometimes they are going through other life experiences, such as divorce, health issues, single parenting, dealing with elderly parents, or transitioning into a new segment of their life," Ms. Arp said about the complexity of her role. "As a coach I also help my clients go after their dreams, whether it be starting their own business or taking an entirely new direction in their lives."
Having been in her clients' shoes before, Ms. Arp also has a wealth of personal experience that she brings to the table, including surviving divorce, losing her home through foreclosure, being a single mother of two, job loss, relocating to Chicago without having a job, and surviving breast cancer. All of these life experiences have certainly made her a better coach.
Ms. Arp is certified in Job Coaching through Challenger Gray and Christmas, completed training in Life Coaching at Coaches Training Institute, and is a certified Neurolinguistic Program Practitioner (NLP) through NLP Institute of Chicago.
A recipient of the Challenger Gray and Christmas CEO Award in recognition of outstanding coaching, Ms. Arp also received numerous recognitions during her tenure with her company as one of three recipients for having the most clients find employment in the shortest amount of time and for receiving the largest percentage of Excellent Survey Ratings from clients. She has also written two programs for her company, an Executive Coaching Program for an HR consulting company, which focused on team development, leadership, and communications, and a Mentoring Program designed exclusively for a healthcare consulting firm.
