Baltimore's Steve deCastro hosts its 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament benefiting There Goes My Hero

    BALTIMORE, MD, December 17, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Billed as one of the premier charity golf tournaments in the region, the Ruth's Chris Steak House Sizzling Celebrity Golf Classic has grown from a local fund-raising event into a prestigious, "must participate" charity golf tournament for a large number of national, regional, and local corporations, current and legendary sports stars, and high-profile Baltimore personalities.

In the eighteen years that Steve DeCastro, Chief Executive Officer of nine award-winning Ruth's Chris Steak House restaurants, has hosted the event, over $3.6 million dollars has been raised by the Sizzling Celebrity Golf Classic.

This year's event, held on September 21st, 2015 at the prominent Woodholme Country Club with the after party at Ruth's Chris Steak House Pikesville, benefitted There Goes My Hero, which provides hope and nourishment to Leukemia patients and their families.

"There Goes My Hero through the help and support of organizations like Ruth's Chris Steak House have been able to add 10K people to the international bone marrow registry and have matched 125 donors to patients, facilitated 17 transplant with matches found through Hero drives. We've also provided 71,931 meals through our meal program and are continuing to provide "hope" to patients and families," says Erik Sauer - Founder & Chairman of the Board.

We have been honored to form lasting friendships and associations which continue to benefit those patients and families battling blood cancers; and for this we are grateful," says de Castro.
