Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Viola H. Glaze as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    MENANDS, NY, December 30, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Viola H. Glaze, Medical Conduct RN Investigator at OPMC, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Viola H. Glaze will be featured in the upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2015/2016.

Enrolling in a four year nursing program in 1987, Viola H. Glaze earned her New York state regents diploma that same year, followed by her BSN in 1991. Enjoying the many facets of healthcare ever since, including the flexibility that her career affords her, she is now serving as a Medical Conduct RN Investigator at OPMC.

In Ms. Glaze's role, she reviews medical records of complaints and medical malpractice claims to ensure the care and treatment rendered by New York State Licensed Physicians are meeting the minimum standards of care. She also conducts interviews of physicians, attorney hospital and medical practice staff members, families, and significant others as they pertain to each case. Finally, Ms. Glaze, the physicians' specialists, and/or legal teams will come to a determination, depending on the findings, and move forward.

"My job at OPMC is a paper pushing sleuth that gets to interview any and all participants, including hospital/practice staff attorneys, etc., in the rendering of care by New York state licensed physicians, evaluate the impact on all parties concerned, and play my part in absolution, closures, and recommendations/outcomes," Ms. Glaze said, who has been serving in this capacity for the past eight years and as a registered nurse for over 24 years.

Ms. Glaze also moonlights as an author. She began writing books during a time when the publishing industry was changing, becoming more digitalized and competitive. Putting her work to the side for some time due to the difficulty in getting her books published, she has embraced the experience and plans to continue writing. Ms. Glaze recently wrote a children's book geared toward threes submarkets, heterosexual, gay, and lesbian parents, and she also recently had a production company review another one of her books, 'Jazzman: A Prophetic Love Story', for a future stage production.
