PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS, February 02, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patricia A. Parker, a self-employed consultant, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in business consulting. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.
Ms. Parker brings 28 years of professional experience to her role as a self-employed consultant. On a daily basis, she counsels individuals to realize their full potential. She accomplishes this by analyzing programs and consulting with clients. On the business side, she maintains a ledger and oversees all accounts payable and receivable. She implements programming accounting services and processes payroll, as well.
Ms. Parker believes that one should always remember that "Someone, someplace has it worse than you do, so be grateful for what you have." She started in her career by asking if she could work in the operations room over the holiday vacation. When she moved to Kansas City, she was able to take a job as a computer operator. She has held positions as a programmer, manager, analyst, consultant and instructor. Ms. Parker believes that her greatest career achievements are her honesty with her clients and the opportunity to teach students what she has learned.
Looking back, Ms. Parker attributes her success to her hard work, loyalty, honesty and faithfulness. She became involved in her profession because she signed up for a qualifying test and answered all but one question correctly. The highlight of her career was being able to walk into the office of Speaker of the House in Topeka, Kansas., and be called by her first name. She is also proud to have received from them a commemorative coffee mug with the Kansas state seal in gold. She also has a handwritten invitation from George W. Bush to a victory ball.
Ms. Parker studied accounting and mathematics at Metropolitan Community College. She is a former president and former secretary of Computer Professionals Unlimited Inc., and a former treasurer of the Association of Information Technology Professionals. In recognition of her professional excellence, she was presented with an award commemorating her first year of presidency at CPU. In years to come, Ms. Parker hopes to continue making a difference in people's lives.
