The Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation was founded in 1979 by former professional golfer Juan "Chi Chi" Rodriguez, the founder of Raymond James Financial, Inc., Bob James, and educator Bill Hayes. The foundation was formed to help at-risk youth achieve academic, social, and economic success by providing the students with the practical skills to excel in all aspects of life. The foundation also supports the Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy, a public and private school partnership that serves fourth through eighth grade students who are not performing at grade level, have low self-esteem, or trouble adjusting to their academic environment.
