Ms. Michaels has five years of experience as an attorney, and has worked for the firm of Jeffrey S. Schecter & Associates, P.C. for the past three years. Ms. Michaels became involved in her profession because in order to attain a bachelor's degree, she needed to take six required law courses. These courses piqued her interest in the field. She eventually minored in law while majoring in forensic psychology, which ultimately led to her decision to go to law school.

Ms. Michaels received a JD from New York Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is admitted to practice in the states of New York and New Jersey. She maintains affiliation with the Nassau County Bar Association, the Nassau County Women's Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the ABA. In recognition of her hard work and dedication, Ms. Michaels has been named as one of the New York Metro Area's Outstanding Young Lawyers and a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2014 and 2015. She has also been honored as a Top Female Attorney in New York by Super Lawyers in 2015 and 2016.
