Earnestine A. Fitzgerald Named Professional of the Year in Fire & Emergency Medical Services

    FORT WASHINGTON, MD, March 04, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Earnestine A. Fitzgerald, Captain of Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Fire & Emergency Medical Services. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

Ms. Fitzgerald brings 26 years of professional experience to her role as a captain of Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department. Throughout her career, she has set herself apart as an expert in the areas of training, education and paramedic development. Each day, she supervises the north side and a staff of six, while overseeing fire stations, seven basic life support units and three advanced life support units. Additionally, she is responsible for conducting site inspections. Looking back, Ms. Fitzgerald attributes her success to her upbringing. She became involved in her profession after taking paramedical courses in medical school to be a road doctor.

Ms. Fitzgerald received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Queens College. In addition to her degree, she is a certified pharmacy technician, a certified CPR instructor, a certified first aid instructor, a certified emergency medical response instructor and a certified peer mediation lead. She is a member of the National Safety Council. In years to come, Ms. Fitzgerald hopes to attain the rank of chief and instruct more critical-care classes.
