Craig R. Sanford, DDS Named Professional of the Year in Dentistry

Dr. Sanford has 38 years of professional experience, with 10 years as the owner of Craig R. Sanford, D.D.S. Throughout his career, he has set himself apart through his skills in general and laser dentistry. Each day, he is responsible for practicing total general dentistry, including endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, restorative, crown and bridge, implant restoration and denture fabrication. He treats gum and tooth problems with dental lasers, performing nitrous oxide analgesia and Invisalign tooth movement.

Looking back, Dr. Sanford attributes his success to his hard work, innate skill, honesty and willingness to continue learning. He became involved in his profession because of his interest in patient care. The highlight of his career was having the opportunity to work as a Captain in the United States Army Dental Corps.

Dr. Sanford completed his General Practice Residency at Irwin Army Hospital, having completed a Doctor of Dental Surgery at Georgetown University in 1976 and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Norwich University in 1972. He holds numerous certifications, including a Standard Proficiency Certification in Hard and Soft Tissue Lasers, a Standard Proficiency Certification in Three Wavelengths of Dental Lasers, a Versawave Laser Certification and a Nitrous Oxide Conscious Sedation Certification. To remain Massachusetts Dental Society; Fellow, Academy of Laser Dentistry; American Dental Association; American Academy of Implant Dentistry; International Congress of Oral Implantologists. In recognition of his hard work and dedication, he received an American Academy of Oral Pathology Award from Georgetown University, and a Burke Memorial Award from Norwich University. In years to come, Dr. Sanford intends to continue practicing dentistry and further his education.
