Deborah S. Minnis Honored for Excellence in Labor and Employment Law

    TALLAHASSEE, FL, March 30, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah S. Minnis, Attorney of Ausley McMullen has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in labor and employment law.
Ms. Minnis brings 30 years of overall experience to her role as an attorney of Ausley McMullen.

Throughout her career, she has set herself apart through her work with labor and employment law. Each day, she represents and advises management clients in employment discrimination matters, including the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Pregnancy Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and other civil rights acts, as well as state law employment tort claims.

Ms. Minnis has worked as an assistant attorney general for the state of Florida for six years. She has also taught as an adjunct professor at the Florida State University College of Law. She is currently learning Japanese to keep her mind active.

Looking back, Ms. Minnis attributes her success to maintaining objectivity, treating everyone with respect, and always looking forward so that she can provide the best services for her clients. She became involved in her profession because she was originally going to go into psychology. She found that psychology was used in conjunction with the law and decided to become an attorney. The highlight of her career has been the trust that her clients place in her.

Ms. Minnis received a JD from Florida State University. She maintains affiliation with the Florida School Board Attorneys Association, the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Leadership Tallahassee Program, Tallahassee Women Lawyers and the Tallahassee Bar Association. To recognize her for all of her accomplishments, she was named as a Women's AV Preeminent Attorney in 2014, and she holds an AVVO Rating of 7.0. In five years, Ms. Minnis intends to continue on the same path.
