NOTTINGHAM, MD, March 30, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patricia L. Highcove, Vocational Consultant of Highcove Consulting, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Rehabilitation Services. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.
Patricia Highcove runs a vocational consulting company for individuals with disabilities that preclude them from getting back to work. She counsels these individuals and assesses their needs and skill levels, assisting them and referring them for various training in different industries. The training she provides enables her clients to individually receive a skill base in a profession or industry that will enable them to get back to work. She works with her clients on their interview skills by role playing an interview scenario so that they can represent themselves effectively during an interview. Her clients are referred to her through insurance companies that are dealing with injured individuals that claim workers compensation after orthopedic injuries. After assessing their skills and abilities she refers her clients to various training schools that will meet their skill needs and improve their skills.
Ms. Highcove has 34 years of professional experience, with 18 years as a vocational consultant of Highcove Consulting. Each day, she is responsible for overseeing the client base, ensuring that individuals with developmental disabilities return to work by rendering counseling services. Additionally, she assesses clients' skills and counsels individuals with long-term disabilities. Ms. Highcove is separated from her peers because of her independence, which is necessary in her ongoing work.
Looking back, Ms. Highcove attributes her success to her passion for her profession. She became involved in her profession after gaining experience working with developmentally disabled children. The most gratifying aspect of Ms. Highcove's career is being able to help others.
Ms. Highcove received a Master of Science in rehabilitation counseling from Syracuse University in 1982 and a Bachelor of Science in rehabilitation services from Syracuse University in 1981. In addition to her degrees, she became a certified case manager in 1990, a certified rehabilitation counselor in 1987 and a certified vocational evaluator in 1983. She is a board member and former president of the Chesapeake Association of Rehabilitation Professionals in the Private Sector, and a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals. In the coming years, Ms. Highcove would like to expand her business.
