As an attorney of Harland L. Burge Jr. Law Offices, Dr. Burge has set himself apart through general trial work related to white collar crimes, massive construction lawsuits, environmental lawsuits and business fraud. Each day, he is responsible for providing arbitration and mediation services for settlement conferences.

Looking back, Dr. Burge attributes his success to his tenacity and extensive technical background. He became involved in his profession because of his prior experiences as an engineer. He was hired as an expert witness in a murder trial in Orange County, and became intrigued by the process. That is when he decided to go back to school to become a lawyer. The most gratifying aspect of his career is representing the "little guy." There were two cases in particular that he notes as the highlights of his career. The first was where he had helped stop the repressed memory cases in California. He wrote an article on how to defeat these cases, which is helping to put an end to them. He has tried three such cases and has won all of them. The second was the Huntington Beach flood case, which was the longest case in history, and involved five insurance companies. He represented the 75 homeowners and they won.

Dr. Burge received a Ph.D. in engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles and a JD from Loyola Marymount University. He also holds a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. In addition to his degrees, he is a licensed contractor in the State of California and a licensed professional engineer. He maintains affiliation with the American Bar Association and the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association. In 2010, he was named as a PRR AV Preeminent Attorney.
