Robert Andjelic Honored for Excellence in Agriculture

    CALGARY, AB, April 08, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Andjelic, Entrepreneur and Owner of Andjelic Farms Inc., Andjelic Land Inc. and Sun-X Properties Ltd., has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in agriculture.

Mr. Andjelic is a diversified entrepreneur, currently managing the operations of Andjelic Farms Inc., Andjelic Land Inc. and Sun-X Properties Ltd. Throughout his career, he has set himself apart as an expert in the areas of agricultural production, grain handling and distribution, farmland management, industrial warehouse office development and farmland enhancement. Each day, he coordinates rentals and manages approximately 200,000 acres, of which around 7,000 are custom farmed.

When Mr. Andjelic sold his industrial real estate portfolio, he went into commodities trading, and after that, he was among the first in rare earth metals, later trading in gold and oil. He now owns approximately 200,000 acres of arable farmland, which is the largest holding in Saskatchewan, and most likely in Canada too.

Looking back, Mr. Andjelic became involved in his profession because he looked at the global picture. He wondered where Canada fit, and what the nation had that China other developing economies needed. The answer to that was agricultural products and fresh water. In 1987, he started Sun-X Properties Ltd. as a developer, owner and operator of industrial real estate in Winnipeg, Manitoba. At its peak, the company owned and managed approximately 2.5 million square feet. In 2007, most of the portfolio was sold, in the largest real estate transaction in Manitoba's history.

Mr. Andjelic studied at the Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute in 1964. In five years, Mr. Andjelic intends to take his companies to the next phase with grain distribution and marketing, adding value along the way.
