These ten well projects will do much to alleviate suffering of the initial 30,000 children and families we anticipate will receive their first access to clean water.
SPRINGFIELD, MO, May 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- WorldServe International and the Tanzania Water Fund, both independent U.S. 501c3 organizations, announce that full funding - in the amount of $235,000 - has been achieved to facilitate the construction of ten new village water projects. In the rural Singida North Region of Tanzania, East Africa, construction has begun on the projects. Completion is anticipated by July 2016. The wells' bore holes had been previously drilled as a result of more than $100,000 in funding provided by Africa 6000 and other supporters of WorldServe.
The water projects, which will provide an anticipated 30,000 people with clean water for the first time, are the first signs of a successful long-term plan and effort to bring clean water to every village in the Singida North constituency. According to Dean Riesen, who led the effort on behalf of the Tanzania Water Fund: "These ten well projects will do much to alleviate suffering of the initial 30,000 children and families we anticipate will receive their first access to clean water. Since people cannot live a life of good health and potential without clean water, we know that population near these projects will swell when word spreads that clean water is available. We're excited about these ten projects but anticipate many more to follow as we achieve our full goal."
Other supporters working with WorldServe in the area include the Waterboys Initiative, founded by Chris Long, a member of the New England Patriots. Thus far, the Waterboys' completed projects include the villages of Ndughwira, Unyampanda, and Kinyamwambo (all located within the Singida North region).
