Mr. Givens has been a franchisee twice over the last 30 years, as well as an acting franchiser. During the 1980s, he was a franchisee of a national fast food chain. He built and operated 14 restaurants in the Pittsburgh, Pa., market. For the past 12 years, Mr. Givens has been a franchisee of the Regis Corporation. He has operated as many as 14 hair salons, primarily Supercuts and a few Cost Cutter hair salons. He has sold all but two and operates them in the panhandle of Florida. In the franchiser capacity, he was the Divisional Vice President for Long John Silvers, working with national, as well as international, franchisees. He then went on to become the president of the franchise division for Pofolks Restaurants.

Mr. Givens holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Accounting and Psychology from Westmar Teikyo University and he completed executive program coursework through the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. Additionally, he earned Certified Franchise Executive Distinction from the International Franchise Association, and is affiliated with the Franchise Brokers Association.
