The briefing is hosted in partnership with the American Heart Association, for which Bill has been recently named Chairman Elect for the Northeast region of the AHA affiliate board. This affiliate board serves the Northeast region of the U.S., covering eight states.
The one-day event will feature panels of notable medical professionals, such as Dr. Gary H. Gibbons, Director, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Robert Califf, FDA Commissioner and Cardiologist, and Nancy Brown, CEO, American Heart/Stroke Association, as well as possible opening remarks given by Michelle Obama. The panel presentations will focus on cardiovascular health and improving overall heart health in our communities.
La Forte has been involved with the American Heart Association for over 12 years, serving on the Rochester Regional Board for almost 10 years and as its Chair from 2012-2014.
