About Magali Jerez, Ph.D.:

As a former faculty member at Bergen Community College, Dr. Jerez specialized in foreign languages, including Spanish and French. She has been in education for 25 years as a professor and administrator, teaching adults in ESL for the county. She loves being an educator and furthering her studies through her work. She feels that her greatest strength is in teaching. "Teachers have a tremendous impact in the lives of students," she says. "We give them the tools needed in their career and I am a mentor to students." In recognition of her achievements, she was recently named a Top Female Executive, among the Women of the Year in Education for 2011, and was appointed Deputy Director General and Secretary General from the International Biographical Centre.

To prepare for her career, Dr. Jerez received two Ph.D.s, a master's degree in counseling and psychology, and a bachelor's degree in languages. She feels that, above all of her professional and academic accolades, her greatest accomplishment is seeing students learn languages from the beginning. Other achievements to her name include writing musical lyrics translated from Spanish to English and from French to Italian for the International Festival of Choral Music in Paris, France, in 2003, being named Women of the Year in Education for 2011, and recently being appointed Deputy Director General and Secretary General for the International Biographical Centre.
