Spartan Logistics Now Operating in Kansas City, MO

    COLUMBUS, OH, October 05, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Spartan Logistics, a warehousing and transportation firm headquartered in Columbus, OH is pleased to announce its expansion into the Kansas City market, making Missouri its 5th state. Spartan's newest location is at 4700 Deramus Avenue, within the Kansas City Power and Light Industrial Center in Kansas City. A Fortune 500 customer prompted Spartan to secure warehouse space as a regional distribution center to improve customer service, minimize shipping times, and lower supply chain costs. In September of 2016, the owners of Spartan Logistics leased the former TNT Logistics building, acquiring over 128,000 square feet of high quality distribution space, bringing their portfolio to over 4 million square feet. The warehouse will be dedicated for contract storage and customer distribution. Spartan will begin receiving product the first week of October.

Adding a Kansas City location is a strategic move that will allow Spartan to have a physical presence in a place where both the geographic and population centers of the United States lie within 250 miles of Kansas City, making the metropolitan area a natural hub for intermodal warehousing, transportation, and manufacturing. The rail-served district allows manufacturers from the East Coast to the West Coast to ship direct for storage and distribution throughout the entire Midwest market. Spartan's Kansas City location currently employs six people in a variety of leadership, transportation, and logistics functions. The location will eventually add employees and create an exceptional work flow.
