To prepare for her career, Dr. Jones earned a graduate diploma in sports medicine from The University of New South Wales in 2000, a diploma in musculoskeletal medicine from the University of Otago in 1990, a diploma in obstetrics from The University of Auckland in 1978 and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Otago in 1975. In addition to her educational qualifications, Dr. Jones is a trustee of the Midlands Regional Health Care Charitable Trust and a board member of Tui Ora Ltd. In 2012, she was selected to appear on the front cover of Pro-Files Magazine, and she was interviewed by the Elite Radio Network in 2011. She has been featured in Pro-Files Magazine and the Top 101 Industry Experts publication in 2011 and 2010, respectively. From 2008 until 2010, she has been recognized as an Outstanding Professional of the Year by Worldwide Who's Who, and she has served as an officer of The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem since 2008.
