LOS ANGELES, CA, November 18, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Top of the Food Chain Entertainment (TOTFC) is pleased to announce the impending release and upcoming screening of A Candle Lights the Heart, provided by Executive Producer Damien Douglas. The film was directed by Shinji Kondo in conjunction with the Shinnyo-en Temple. A Candle Lights the Heart follows five families touched deeply by loss as they learn to cope with their grief through a traditional Buddhist candle lighting ceremony. The ceremony depicted in the film is a real Buddhist tradition held every Memorial Day weekend. While the iteration depicted in the film is a more recent version, it has quickly gained momentum, growing from mere hundreds of participants to around 6000 by the year 2016.
A Candle Lights the Heart was previously aired at no cost to a small Beverly Hills audience from November 2-4, and again from November 9-10. TOTFC Entertainment also plans to hold another screening in December in New York. On the screening's first night, director Shinji Kondo appears with Mark Bruner of Daddy B Productions to hold a Q&A with the audience. Also in attendance was model and actress Nathalie Mercado who, along with Bruner, discussed their own firsthand experiences with grief and loss.
When asked about his film and its impact, director Kondo remarked, "I have made this movie to reach out to all people that have experienced loss. Though I am a Buddhist and Shinnyeo-en is a Buddhist Temple, this film touches everyone."
A Candle Lights the Heart will be available through iTunes and On Demand by November 14.
