ORLANDO, FL, December 14, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With Christmas now less than 20 days away, New Destiny Christian Center (NDCC) with pastor Paula White have mobilized an army of volunteers for the largest Christmas giving campaign in the church's history.
On December 21st, a semi-truck loaded to the brim with over 30,000 pounds of food will arrive at the church campus to help meet the nutritional needs of over 2,000 men, women and children for the holidays.
"You often hear that the holiday's can be the most difficult time of year for so many people," says NDCC Lead Pastor, Paula White. "For those that can't afford to feed their families this Christmas, let alone put presents under the tree, the heartache is unimaginable. Our church is here to help bring joy and hope this Christmas for our community's most vulnerable - no questions asked - and with a food drive of this size and scope, we think we can make a real difference."
Additionally, NDCC is organizing a gift giving campaign for local school children. Needy children will receive toys and other presents either through a school gift giving partnership organized by NDCC, or by visiting the church campus directly.
"We organize the gift giving campaign for those children that perhaps have never received a Christmas present before, or their parents have lost a job and can't afford to buy gifts for their family," says NDCC General Manager, Doug Shackelford. "To see the looks on the faces of these young children makes the entire experience incredibly powerful. Yes food and other basic necessities are vitally important, but to be able to give toys and presents to children that otherwise wouldn't receive any, it's like saving Christmas for both the kids and the parents. It's an amazing privilege for all of us."
Donations can be made to directly to the food and gift drives by visiting the church's online donations portal and simply notating "Food and Gift Drive" https://www.ndcc.tv/give-online
All of those who would like to volunteer in person to assist in either the food or gift drive, are encouraged to call (407) 884-NDCC (6322).
