KIRKLAND, WA, December 15, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hadi Dastbaz, Former Deputy President in Supervision and Education for Central Insurance of Iran and Current Board Member and Managing Director of The Risk Management Company, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in his field through Industry Experts Magazine. Hadi Dastbaz will soon be featured in an upcoming edition of Industry Experts Magazine's Top 10 of 2016 edition.
Retiring from his previous assignment with Central Insurance of Iran, having served as Acting Deputy President in Supervision and Education, Hadi Dastbaz spent 44 years helping the insurance industry in his country, dating back to 1972, before forming The Risk Management Company with a few fellow colleagues of his. Proud to have played such an important role in various insurance industries over the course of his career, today he serves as his company's Board Member and Managing Director, which is located in Tehran, Iran. Evaluating high risk, such as petrochemical, refinery, and other energy divisions, the company, from their establishment date, has been preparing the latest version of policy pertaining to energy risks. They also started updating the policy version for use by insurance companies and have since introduced the latest policy version, used in the London market, to their policy holders.
Explaining that Iran's market wasn't very advanced, the policies that were previously sold to people were several decades old and no longer applied to their needs in most cases. Introducing new products and policies, for that reason, was a huge undertaking on Dastbaz's part.
"Insurance companies, two decades back, were not familiar with the product, rating, or policy conditions and were, therefore, resistant to these changes," he said. "But we were able to advise policyholders that they were making the right decisions for their businesses, especially those in the oil, gas, petrochemical, and refinery industries. Our ability to get these policyholders onboard contributed greatly to my success and the success of my colleagues."
During the same time that he was with Central Insurance of Iran, Dastbaz served as Liquidator Director of Foreign Insurance agencies after nationalization of the insurance industry in Iran, as Director of Life & Non-Life and Director of the Technical Committee at the Alborez Insurance Company, as Adviser of MD, and as Director of Technical Committee in Export & Investment Insurance Company. Dastbaz is Founding Member of several organizations, to include Hafez Insurance Company, Karafarin Insurance Company, Asmari Insurance Company, and Hekmat Saba. He has served on the International Chamber of Commerce as Deputy Secretary General, Secretary General, and Vice-Chairman of ICC/INC of Iran. He is also an active member of the Iranian Association of Official Experts since 2009.
Over the course of Dastbaz's career, he has written many books and articles and has prepared numerous reports on the topic of privatizing the insurance companies. Invited to teach at various universities that offer bachelor's degrees in insurance, he instead began writing and translating books for students to use since there was no updated literature for them to use. The Federation of Afro-Asian Insurer and Reinsurer has recognized two of his books on their best book reading lists and a third book is on the booklist for the Research and Development Center of Central Insurance of Iran. Dastbaz has written and translated six books for the Insurance Industry of Iran and has translated three books for International Chamber of Commerce of Iran.
