MONTCLAIR, NJ, January 24, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gianna M. Caruso, Psychotherapist for Answers Thru Counseling, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Gianna M. Caruso will be featured in Women of Distinction Magazine in 2017.
Founder of Answers Thru Counseling, Board Certified Therapist Gianna M. Caruso, has been working in psychotherapy now for more than a decade. After graduating with her master's degree in 2002, Caruso began referring students to a private practice in Nutley, New Jersey. Subsequently, the practice offered her supervised hours of employment in both private and group counseling. Gaining a tremendous amount of experience at their practice, she remained in position for five years before starting her own practice in 2011.
"All of my staff members at Answers Thru Counseling have the patient's best interest at all times," Caruso noted. "Our philosophies are all aligned, and that is 'patient first'."
Caruso and her team specialize in cognitive behavior therapy, marriage counseling, play therapy, substance abuse, family and chil-dren therapy, and parenting issues. Working with patients to resolve issues, they first do an initial assessment, followed by coming up with a treatment plan before beginning therapy sessions. Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes long, and, depending on the pro-gress of treatments, the quantity of sessions will then be determined. All sessions are confidential and are had in an environment that feels safe, inviting and relaxing.
As a Psychotherapist, Caruso has always had a passion for helping others create a better, more comfortable, fulfilling life for themselves. She cannot image doing anything else for a living. She believes that therapy will always work, so long as the therapist and patient connect. Together, they can set a plan of action to work with and move forward in a positive direction.
"My job is very rewarding," she added. "It's a career that entails helping others achieve happiness, goals, and the ability to work through change."
Earning her BA in History with a minor in Psychology from Long Island University and her MS of Education with a minor in Family and Marriage Counseling, Caruso then completed her MA in the Arts of Teaching from William Paterson University. She is a Certified Preschool Through 3rd Grade Teacher, is a certified School Counselor in the state of New Jersey, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of New York and New Jersey. She is currently working toward her PhD from North Central University.
After Caruso completed her second masters in college, she began working as a Substance Abuse Counselor for Essex County Welfare in New Jersey. She then entered the Board of Education as a Preschool Teacher in West New York, New Jersey, and as a High School Guidance Counselor in North Bergan, New Jersey. She was also employed as a Private Therapist in Nutley, New Jersey and Montclair, New Jersey all prior to forming Answers Thru Counseling.
Caruso is an active member of American Counseling Association. Her practice offers extended day, evening, and weekend hours.
