Control panels are not 'one size fits all'
SOUTH ELGIN, IL, February 20, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Often the forgotten component of industrial pumps, the right control panel can make all the difference in the success of a new sump installation.
"Control panels are not 'one size fits all'," said Todd Sherwood, national sales manager for Pitbull Industrial Pumps, an Illinois-based manufacturer of all-pneumatic pumps.
"The panels not only monitor the level of liquid in the sump but some actually monitor levels inside the pumping chamber as well as control the flow of air in and out of the pump, which moves the liquid through the pipes and on to the next destination," he said. "As a result, you have to take into account every aspect of the application, including environment, flow, use and the presence and size of solids to ensure the selection of the appropriate pump and control panel."
Requirements such as the need for explosion-proof components can affect the decision, as can whether the application calls for a submersible, transfer, filter press or hot condensate return pump.
"We have the right control panel for a wide variety of industrial pump applications," Sherwood said.
Pitbull Pumps made its reputation on the design and development of its innovative pneumatic displacement pumps, but the manufacturer can also provide electro-pneumatic controls when the need arises.
"We work closely with each customer to identify both the right industrial pump and correct control panel for each company's specific needs," Sherwood said. "Pitbull does not operate as an order taker, shipping out Pump A with Control Panel B based on an initial contact.
"We engineer-review each installation to ensure the customer receives the right solution to meet their unique needs."
