LOS ANGELES, CA, March 04, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Glenn Fernandez is no ordinary doctor. Behind the scrubs lies the heart of an artist and a set of golden pipes. On his new album "Ave Maria", set for release on April 10th, Glenn masterfully blends modern instrumentation with classical opera vocals into his own unique sound.
Spirituality was what propelled Glenn to create the album. The chaos and trauma he witnessed in his training to become an ER Doctor inspired him to think about other ways he could heal himself and others. The title track, a hauntingly beautiful rendition of "Ave Maria", perfectly utilizes the Tenor's voice, which Stage & Cinema describes as "a fascinating and lovely vibrato". Listening to the album produces a meditative effect and elicits feelings of mindfulness and connectedness.
If you're a fan of opera you may have seen and heard Glenn before. He's been in operatic productions around the world, but one of his stand out roles was Henrik in the East West Players production of "A Little Night Music". Glenn was a natural in this role, his previous training as a cellist shone as he accompanied himself during a complicated song. This feat garnered him praise from Back Stage who found Glenn's performance "charming" and LA Weekly applauded Glenn as "outstanding."
The album will be available on Glenn's website www.theglennfernandez.com, CD Baby and BandCamp as both a digital download and as a CD. The album will also be available on iTunes, GooglePlay, AmazonMP3 and Spotify.
About Glenn Fernandez
Glenn Fernandez is an operatic Tenor and Emergency Room Doctor from Louisiana who has never believed in taking just one path in life. From an early age he displayed a love of music and studied cello and piano as a teenager. Coming from a family of doctors gave Glenn a natural path to take, studying to become a doctor. Not happy with taking just one path Glenn added his earlier passion, music, and pursued both. He trained with soprano Patrizia Zanardi in Italy, who helped him construct his singing technique.
He now lives in Los Angeles and fully realizes both of his passions in life, practicing medicine as an emergency room doctor, and singing. Glenn is frequently seen on the operatic stage in productions all over the world. He received high praise for his role as Henrik in "A Little Night Music". His new album, "Ave Maria" will be released on April 10th. For updates on upcoming performances and future releases go to Glenn's website or follow him on social media.
