BBQ for the Badge is intended to support local law enforcement officers while attendees get to donate and enjoy award winning BBQ.
RICHARDSON, TX, April 12, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- North Central Ford is honored to host 2017's BBQ for the Badge. The local Fire Department, Police, and First Responders will be participating in a BBQ contest that benefits Richardson Police Department's Officer Steve Hooten and his family. The event gives attendees the opportunity to sample BBQ with a donation, support local law enforcement, and see which department will be North Central's BBQ Master! Additional services will include vendor booths, Fire and Police apparatus displays, a DJ, and special appearances throughout the day.
BBQ for the Badge will be located in the parking lot of North Central Ford at 1819 N Central Expy on Friday, April 28th from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Registration fees are $100 for BBQ contestants, limit to 10 teams. Meats will be brisket, ribs, and chicken. Lone Star BBQ Society rules apply. This is not a sanctioned event. Cash payout benefits Officer Steve Hooten and family. $1,500 goes to the Grand Champion and $1,000 to the Reserve. North Central Ford will donate $500 to each team. Visitors are free to attend and may donate to the Richardson Fire Fighters Association at their discretion. The RFFA is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization and tax deductible.
Richardson Police Department's Officer Steven Hooten is honored and supported by this year's BBQ for the Badge. After suffering the tragic loss of his daughter Ally to an ATV accident, all donations and fees will go toward Officer Hooten and his family. North Central Ford and the team behind the event support all local law enforcement and encourage others to stop by and keep the community strong with support for those that protect and serve.
