The JDR Industry Blogger Awards bring recognition to the work of the best blogs in the business, supporting professionalism in the remodeling industry.
"These bloggers produce innovative and quality content that inspires and educates the public," said Todd Jackson, Founder and CEO of Jackson Design and Remodeling. "By acknowledging these bloggers, it is our goal to encourage and promote quality content in the design and remodeling industry."
The winner in each category receives $500 and a JDR Industry Blogger Award Winner badge to display on their blog. Architecture winner Samantha Markham of The Aspiring Architect plans to donate a portion of her winnings by holding a contest on her own blog for architecture students and aspiring young professionals. The winner(s) will each receive a portion of the prize money to help pay for educational expenses. Samantha said she had an amazing outpouring of support from family, friends, followers, and co-workers during the contest, "I was super excited to be a part of the JDR Industry Blogger Awards. Just to be nominated was a huge honor! My readers were also very excited and supportive. The contest introduced me to bloggers in my field and in other professions."
The winner in the Interior Design category, Tina of The Enchanted Home, is donating her $500 prize to an important, and personal, cause: "I will donate my winnings to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. A relative is there now, only 11 years old, being treated for leukemia. I cannot think of a better way to spend this money than to help fight this horrible disease."
Remodeling category winner, Jeffrey Johnson of Jeffrey Design, thought the contest was exciting and relevant. "Bloggers have a passion for sharing stories with their audience," Jeffrey said, "We should be advocates for supporting other bloggers and how we all encourage, inspire, and energize our readers."
Repeat winners include Miron Construction, which won the Construction Business category for a third year, and Matt Risinger, winner in the Green category for a fourth consecutive year.
Voting was open to the public between March 6 and April 24. One vote per person, per category, per device was allowed. All winners were chosen based on this voting method.
