LITTLE FALLS, MN, June 21, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Talent attraction continues to be front and center to the attention of economic developers. And, the Mid America Best Practices summer conference will highlight talent attraction strategies.
On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, Debbie Maranger Menk and Jennifer Hackman from Emsi will discuss attraction efforts and how "talent" can be defined. Their new talent attraction scorecard will help communities with their growth strategies.
"Mid-America always puts forth a great conference that is highly relevant to economic developers," said Matt Shermoen of Golden Shovel Agency. "This conference is the right size, and I always pick up new connections and information."
On Thursday, June 22, 2017, participants will be able to hear the "Talent In the Driver Seat" at 9:00 am. This session will highlight the best practices for urban and rural communities looking for a systematic approach. Participants can assess their own efforts and compare them to other available strategies.
This year, the Mid-America Economic Development Council will be partnering with the Indiana Economic Development Association (IEDA) to jointly host the conference. The conference will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott Fort Wayne Downtown. This joint partnership will give Mid-America EDC members and conference attendees a great opportunity to learn about not only some of the economic development best practices in Indiana, but is a great opportunity to learn from all of our Midwestern peers as we share our success stories, best practices, and lessons learned in our profession.
