"Juniper is inspired by the human body, and we really wanted that to be a part of the Juniper narrative.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, July 25, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Veteran furniture designer Eric Brand unveiled his first direct-to-consumer brand, Juniper, and is available to the general public as of today. The luxurious furniture line will be sold exclusively online and shipped direct from the San Francisco Bay Area. Inspired by the strength and beauty of the human body, Juniper pays homage to timeless materials, techniques and silhouettes through expert craftsmanship.
"Juniper is inspired by the human body, and we really wanted that to be a part of the Juniper narrative. Just as everybody is unique to the individual, each piece within Juniper is handcrafted and bespoke in nature," Eric Brand told Interior Design Magazine, which featured an exclusive teaser editorial on Juniper in their February 2017 issue.
The Juniper collection is deeply influenced by the Art Deco design movement in Paris and French Concession Shanghai. The leather desk J5A features pendants that are reinterpretations of antique 20's and 30's hardware found at a Paris Flea market. The lounge Chair J9 is crafted of camel suede and black lacquer beechwood, a combination Coco Chanel featured in her interiors during that time.
The Juniper collection came to life when Eric Brand partnered with creative agency Giant Propeller, to create the website and digital ethos of the brand. Eric Brand in collaboration with Creative Director Jordan Freda and photographer Sebastien Micke, conceptualized a shoot that featured extraordinary human bodies paired with the elegant form and function of Juniper's furniture. The resulting brand photography is an editorial depiction of human strength, natural beauty and dedication to craft.
"When we set out to create the world of Juniper, with Eric Brand, we both knew we had to make a visual statement unlike anything the furniture industry had seen before. By pairing talented internet personalities with pieces of furniture they identified with, we have forged an unforgettable relationship. Eric and I both hope that when you see the imagery of Juniper, it resonates of unforgettable visuals and authenticity," said Jordan Freda, creative director, Giant Propeller.
Eric Brand is best known for his work in luxury residences, hotels and resorts around the world, including Wynn, Harrah's, MGM Properties and Viceroy Hotels. The designer is credited for redefining luxury and transforming the world of high end furnishings.
