Ocktober Film Festival is Making Dreams Come True

    NEW YORK, NY, August 16, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ocktober Film Festival presents its first-ever Short Film Calling Card Pitch Contest. Understanding the challenge that it can be to create projects with sometimes little to no monetary resources, Ocktober Film Festival Executive Producers Emelyn Stuart, founder and Antoine Allen, co-founder have teamed up to provide this motivating opportunity for filmmakers. Candidates have the chance to pitch their original ideas and one lucky winner chosen from five finalists will not only be granted the ultimate prize of film creation and distribution, but mentorship by Stuart and Allen throughout the process. The foundation of Ocktober Film Festival is to nurture its filmmakers and this pitch opportunity is an extension of that commitment.

Ocktober Film Festival debuted in 2013 as Emelyn Stuart answered the call to have a festival that doesn't just screen and award films, but one that teaches its filmmakers as it provides resources for them to grow. Since its inception, the festival has reviewed thousands of films, nominated and screened one hundred plus, and awarded a select number of filmmakers from that lot--of all ages. Sometimes challenged by the charge of only being able to facilitate a limited number of awardees, Ocktober Film Festival has found yet another way to serve the vast and creative film community.

This film pitch contest is open to legal US residents (18 and older) that have original ideas and need that extra push to take their idea from concept to product. Contestants will submit a written synopsis (3-5 sentences) along with the 2-5 minute pitch video. Upon review by a panel of judges, five chosen finalists will bring their pitch videos to life in a live session on Saturday, October 8th at the 5th Annual Ocktober Film Festival. The winning pitch will have its film screened for the first time in front of a live audience at the 6th Annual Ocktober Film Festival in 2018. Stuart Films, LLC and Antoine Allen Films will be listed as Executive Producers along with appropriate credits (even if multiple) attributed to the respective filmmaker. Dreams will come true as one amazing film will see the light of day.
