CHICAGO, IL, September 19, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dovetail Brewery (1800 W. Belle Plaine, Chicago; 773-683-1414) and Begyle Brewing Company (1800 W. Cuyler, 1E, Chicago; 773-661-6963), two of Chicago's most popular craft breweries, are teaming up to host their second annual Oktoberfestiversary, a celebration of the neighborhood, season and beer. The two-day festival runs 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, September 23 and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, September 24 outside Dovetail's taproom.
The ultimate beer festival for Chicago's craft beer lovers, Oktoberfestiversary will feature flagship offerings and a few rare brews from Begyle to celebrate the brewery's 5th anniversary of brewing in Ravenswood and authentic Continental European-style beers from Dovetail.
Helping to create a true Oktoberfest experience will be Dovetail's Festbier, the brewery's version of an Oktoberfestbier brewed specially for this event. Brewed in the same style as popular Oktoberfestbiers, Festbier is a strong lager with deep depth and flavor. Begyle will feature Maybe Next Summer, a late summer ale that features refreshing tropical fruit flavors balanced by a light malt sweetness. Both beers will be available in their brewery's respective taproom, as well as select bars, taverns and restaurants until supply runs out
While enjoying the entertainment and beer, keep your energy up with a stop at any of the participating food trucks: Chicago Pizza Boss, Bop Bar, Cookout on Wheels, Big Hatt, Bruges Brothers, Mrs. Murphy's & Sons Irish Bistro, DonerMen and The Empanada Bike.
Oktoberfestiversary is dog-friendly. Treat your best friend to special treats made from Dovetail and Begyle's spent grain, dog beer, and doggie ice cream floats from Mutt Jackson.
Belle Plaine Avenue will be closed from the Ravenswood Metra tracks to the CTA Brown Line tracks, giving Dovetail and Begyle fans room to roam and enjoy food from a variety of food trucks, live music, games and delicious brews. Both taprooms will be open. Games and picnic tables will be set up in Dovetail's parking lot.
With good food, great people and even better beer, Oktoberfestiversary promises to be one blockbuster party. Admission is free so bring friends, family and dogs for a weekend of fun. A portion of the proceeds will go to The Chicago Mosaic School.
