LEHI, UT, November 02, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and professional training, is working with its nationwide network of referrers to donate to the National Military Family Association in support of the Operation Purple program for the sixth year in a row. In celebration of National Military Family Month, Career Step will donate $50 for each student referral that leads to enrollment in one of its career training programs.
"Our referrers are instrumental in spreading the word about the educational opportunities Career Step provides, and we appreciate their efforts," said Vonda Andrews, Career step Referral Program Manager. "Many of them have close ties to the military, and knowing that each referral they make has the potential to impact the lives of military children and families is very important to them."
The National Military Family Association was founded in 1969 by a handful of military wives looking to do what they could to help take care of their widowed friends. They have grown since then to provide healing adventures for families of those recovering from an injury, family retreats for families to reconnect after deployment, free camps for military kids through their Operation Purple program and more.
Last year, Operation Purple received 4,002 camper applications and was able to send 1,317 military children to camp in 16 camps in 11 states across the nation. Since 2004, nearly 60,000 military kids have been able to participate in Operation Purple Camp.
Career Step has trained more than 15,000 military spouses and service members over the years. In addition to being an original member of the Military Spouse Employment Program (MSEP), Career Step is also a MyCAA-approved school.
