More than 2800 students are receiving weekly food donations this school year, and the numbers keep growing, requiring increasing support and care.
MIRAMAR BEACH, FL, December 06, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nowadays, the holiday season is seen as a time for decking the halls, shopping for gifts to stack under the tree, and filling the kitchen with delicious home-baked goodies. But for many, the time between Thanksgiving and the new year is often the most difficult when it comes to making sure there is any food on the table at all. Howard Hospitality recognizes this urgent need all year long through its partnership with Food For Thought, Outreach, Inc., and this Christmas season is incorporating a special 'Breakfast with Santa' event at The Courtyard by Marriott Sandestin at Grand Boulevard to spread holiday cheer and bring together a community for the worthiest cause of all: assuring our children that they will not be hungry this year.
There are few symbols of the holidays that represent cheer and giving as much as Santa Claus, and on December 9th, Howard Hospitality is bringing the jolly man in red to The Bistro at the Courtyard by Marriott Sandestin at Grand Boulevard for a very special breakfast. From 8:30AM to 10:00AM, children and families will have the opportunity to meet St. Nicholas himself. Everyone will receive a complimentary keepsake photo with Santa, and 50% of the proceeds from breakfast purchases during this time will go directly to Food For Thought Outreach, Inc., an organization that works tirelessly year round to provide the community's children with food. What better way is there to celebrate the season?
Howard Hospitality has always embraced the notion that a neighborhood is only as strong as its willingness to give, and the company has been a longtime contributor to the Food For Thought program, including monthly donations through the sharing of The Bistro proceeds, annual participation in the Stock the Pantry program, monthly employee volunteer drives, and a generous donation to the building of the Full Circle Kitchen, which not only helps to feed children, but also empowers them with culinary knowledge and real-life cooking skills. One in seven children in Walton and Okaloosa Counties is living in a food-insecure home, and to fight this problem, the Food For Thought program relies on the generosity of its neighbors to be able to provide weekly backpacks of food and snacks, garden initiatives, holiday meals for over 550 families bridging the gap of over 20 missed meals per student and providing a traditional holiday meal for each family, and culinary educational services. More than 2800 students are receiving weekly food donations this school year, and the numbers keep growing, requiring increasing support and care. Howard Hospitality is proud to continue its service with its third annual Breakfast with Santa event.
Santa is making his list and checking it twice, and the best way to stay in his good graces is by attending breakfast at the Courtyard Marriott Bistro on December 9. This holiday season, spread cheer, love and the spirit of giving by joining Santa to help feed the children of our community.
