Imagineland Play Center Coming Soon to Washington, DC

    WASHINGTON, DC, March 23, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Imagineland has announced the grand opening of its new play center for children ages three to eight years old. The play center will foster the development of children by forming important emotional intelligence skills through fun activities.

The new play center will open its doors starting on May 12, 2018 in a DPR (Department of Parks and Recreation) site, Columbia Heights Community Center at 1480 Girard St. NW, Washington DC 20009 on the 1st floor and will be made available in other DPR sites in different areas of DC in the near future. It will be open every Saturday for the next six weeks. The program will reemerge again in the Fall, offering parents a way to encourage their children through playtime during the school year.

By attending the play center, children will be treated to a variety of mini-activities that are designed to enhance their mental learning capabilities in an indoor setting. A larger play area that is part of the new play center will help to reinforce these learned skills as well as encourage the use of the imagination by allowing children to play with their peers in the multi-themed playroom.

The play center is built around three main themes designed to inspire children to utilize their new skills, empower the use of the imagination and encourage fun with peers– Dreamworld, Igniting Futures and Imagining Creativity. By developing an education-rich environment, children will be able to learn in a setting that is familiar and welcoming. Imagineland 's slogan "the more you play, the more you learn," reinforces this factor and explains the motivation behind the new play center.

Children participating in the play center will be encouraged to explore their creativity and imagination while utilizing the skills they learned in the play center's mini activity zone. Imagineland has made a commitment to emotional intelligence development in children as studies have shown major lifelong benefits, including academic success, improved relationships, and improved health. Children that engage in emotional intelligence learning are able to display emotional awareness, management, understanding, and self-regulation of their feeling.

Imagineland will be running a series of promotions leading up to the launch of the new play center as well as during its opening. Parents that register their children by March 1, 2018, will receive a 50 percent discount on the admittance fee. A 25 percent discount will be provided for those that register by March 7, 2018, and a 15 percent discount will be provided for those that register by March 15, 2018.

April will also see significant saving for parents, as a 10 percent discount will be offered for registration by April 15, 2018. Imagineland is also providing a Refer A Friend promotion for a free hour of play for recommending a friend to the new play center. Parents can choose to purchase an All-Day Pass, which includes free pizza for the child and parent.

During the May 12, 2018, grand opening, there will also be a variety of surprise giveaways. A number of prizes will be provided to children that participate in the Igniting Creativity Play Room activities, including free hours of play, toys, and coupons.

Pricing for the new play center is a value that all parents will find affordable for the enriched emotional development of their children. One hour of playtime is $10. Two hours of playtime is only $15 and three hours of playtime is $20. All-Day Passes are priced at only $25 for a full day of play.
