NEW YORK, NY, June 26, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Veteran Manhattan actor and director Albert Baker will direct Whistle Stop Romance, a one-act play by award-winning playwright Phil Paradis, at The Secret Theatre's Long Island City One-Act Festival July 11-31. The historical romance features actors Elena Crociani as school teacher Florence and Justin Younts as farm supplies salesman Herbert and is set in 1927 on a railroad platform in rural Iowa.
Said long-time director Baker, "What a delight it is working with Phil's script. And I'm honored and thrilled to be working with two such talented young actors as Elena and Justin, and Jessica Newman our stage manager for the show is a real pleasure to work with."

Elena Crociani is a Greek-Italian actress. She studied acting in Athens and at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She recently performed at the American Theatre of Actors and will perform in October at Theatre Row at the United Solo Theatre Festival.
Actor Justin Younts recently appeared in Betrayed by the Mind at 13th Street Reportory. His additional credits include: Why Cupid Came to Earl's, Men Are Dogs, Sandman, Fashionable Carry, Taming of the Shrew, Twelfth Night, and Dead End. He graduated from Lee Strasberg Institute of Film and Theatre.
Jessica Newman has stage managed A Lesson in Blood, The Sonata of Johnny Jack's, Waiting for the Don, Say Goodbye to Yesterday at the American Theatre of Actors; A Cop Shot My Son at REaP The Art Summer Theatre Festival and The Cover of Life at the Gene Frankel Theatre.
Playwright Phil Paradis is best known for his epic World War I play Soldier's Christmas, about the historical Christmas Truce of 1914. His Evening With Stephen Crane will be presented at Manhattan Repertory Theatre August 24-25.
