Key Position Filled for Austin Hotel with New Meeting Space Opening Summer 2008



    /24-7PressRelease/ - AUSTIN, TX, April 02, 2008 - ¡V The Renaissance Austin Hotel recently appointed seasoned professional Diane Vaughn as new Director of Catering to oversee the hotel¡¦s sales and convention efforts. Vaughn will also have a key role in the planning and execution of events for the hotel¡¦s new meeting space, the Glass Oaks ballroom, which opens this summer.

¡§Her knowledge and expertise in the hospitality industry is a valuable asset to the Renaissance luxury Austin hotel. Diane will oversee a fast-paced and very critical part of the hotel operations. She will play a vital role in working with customers utilizing our new meeting space which will open in June 2008,¡¨ commented Rob Gillette, General Manager for the Renaissance Austin Hotel.

She will oversee all aspects of catered events, conventions and banquets held at the hotel to create a unique unforgettable experience, as well as monitor the day-to-day running of the food and beverage department to assure the highest standards are met.

Vaughn brings more than 20 years of experience in the events, culinary and catering industry. Prior positions include the Orlando World Center Marriott, and the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter and Riverwalk Hotels, two of Marriott International¡¦s largest convention center hotels.
