WEST PALM BEACH, FL, October 04, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Andy Cagnetta, chief executive officer of Transworld Business Advisors, has been named Chairman of United Way of Broward County. Transworld is a global company with 235 territories in 15 countries, offering professional brokerage, franchise consulting, and franchise development services in the areas of retail, industrial, franchises, corporations, and the food-beverage industry. Cagnetta was named vice-chair of United Way Broward in 2016.
Always a civic-minded individual, Cagnetta joined the UWBC board 10 years ago when asked by Frank Sacco, CEO of Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, FL. "I had worked on a few other boards whose charities were tied to the work being done by United Way, and was pleased to become a board member," said Cagnetta. "During that process I was able to see and appreciate United Way's approach to helping the community as a whole."
According to the Transworld CEO, the United Way's philosophy of working strategically with various leadership organizations throughout the years has been—and continues to be— impressive. "I have remained committed to United Way because it touches multiple segments throughout the community, from government and non-profits, to healthcare, education and business," said Cagnetta. "I view United Way as the 'Pentagon of Non-Profits,' so when the Pentagon asks you to serve, you serve."
An example of Cagnetta's passion to help others is evident. Over the last 17 years, his Annual Family Pasta Dinner has raised more than $1 million for LifeNet4Families. This year, more than 800 attended a gala event, raising more than $212,000.
Transworld Business Advisors is a member of United Franchise Group, a company with 1,600 franchisees in 80 countries throughout the world. "I am extremely pleased that Andy has been named to Chair the United Way," said Chief Executive Officer Ray Titus. "He is a diligent worker as evidenced by the growth and success of his company. I am sure that same passion will carry over as he helps inspire residents to become involved with United Way."
United Way helps thousands of residents in Broward County with much-needed support, and each year, one in six people are touched by the good works made possible by generous tax-deductible donations. In the 2016-2017 fiscal year United Way served 46 agencies with 51 programs, 3 initiatives, and 1 partnership. There were two Grant Driven Initiatives that involved Project Lifeline and ReadingPals.
