"It is so rewarding to be honored for giving back in the communities we live, work and play;" Caleb Clements, President of White Glove Moving & Storage of Florida.
VERO BEACH, FL, December 05, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- White Glove Moving, Storage & Delivery is honored to be Move for Hunger's, Bekin's Mover of the Year for 2018. More than 42 million Americans, including 1 in 6 children, are food insecure –lacking reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food. Meanwhile, 40% of all the food produced in the U.S. each year ends up in a landfill or is left to rot in a field. White Glove Moving recognized the tragedy of so much food going to waste when so many people don't have enough to eat and joined Move For Hunger in 2012 to help provide meals to their neighbors in need. There are more than 850 moving companies in the Move For Hunger network, yet White Glove Moving continuously exceeds its goals to help raise awareness and food for the areas they serve including: Indian River, Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Palm Beach counties.
Each year this skilled team of professional movers, hosts two food drives. One during the start of the summer when kids get out of school and the demand on the local food bank is high and again in between Thanksgiving and Christmas to help folks donate all the bulk food from their holiday shopping and ensure that families in need can enjoy a holiday feast. The food drives are a collaboration between the successful moving company and community business partners that host the White Glove moving boxes in their offices, clubhouses and lobbies. All that participate are given recognition and have helped exceed the goal for each food drive year after year.
Additionally, White Glove Moving works with the Ft. Pierce and Sebastian postal service to lend a hand with trucks and manpower for Stamp Out Hunger held in May of each year. Being that White Glove Moving is a Florida based company, they also are a reliable partner during natural disasters such as Hurricane Michael that hit the Panhandle region destroying entire towns. White Glove was able to dedicate trucks and crews to transport tens of thousands of pounds of MRE's (meals ready to eat) to the region along with numerous other supplies.
Another terrific resource for gathering food are the loyal White Glove Moving customers. Since many seniors relocate into communities where the cooking will be done for them, many of the families choose to donate the food in their pantries. Interstate move customers also help by donating their non-perishable food items, so their shipments weigh less. Considering their exemplary work fighting hunger and spreading awareness about food insecurity in their community, Move For Hunger has proudly recognized White Glove Moving & Storage as the 2018 Bekin's Mover of the Year.
