David H. Berman, M.D., F.A.C.S. earned his Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude in Biology from Brooklyn College and his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine through the highly-acclaimed 7-year joint BA/MD program. He continued his training with an Internship and Residency in the Department of Medicine at Kings County Hospital/State University Hospital. Dr. Berman went on to a second Residency, for which he was selected as Chief Resident, followed by a Retina Fellowship, at the SUNY Downstate Department of Ophthalmology of Kings County Hospital/State University Hospital. He then completed a prestigious Senior Retina Fellowship at the Hermann Eye Center of the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. Since founding the Brooklyn Retinal Vascular Center in 1989, Dr. Berman has served as its Director. In addition, he is on staff at The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai Medical School, Brooklyn Hospital Center, SUNY Downstate-University Hospital of Brooklyn, Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Long Island College Hospital and New York Methodist Hospital. Dr. Berman also maintains an involvement in academia, serving as Clinical Associate Professor.
