Two dogs are looking for a purpose, and two veterans are in need of assistance.
CAMDEN, NJ, February 19, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Two dogs are looking for a purpose, and two veterans are in need of assistance. AnnieMac Home Mortgage is holding a charity golf tournament to bring them together by supporting Freedom Service Dogs of America.
AnnieMac's goal is to raise a minimum of $60,000 for the custom training of two service dogs. The company is working with Freedom Service Dogs of America, a Colorado-based nonprofit that provides custom-trained service dogs free of charge to people in need.
The training for each dog takes seven to 10 months and costs approximately $30,000. Dogs that are not suitable candidates for service dog work are placed in loving homes through the organization's adoption program.
Last year, through its "Healing Heroes" program, AnnieMac funded the training of a dog that was subsequently provided to a veteran dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This year, the company hopes to fund the training of two such dogs for the sake of the brave men and women who have served our country.
