The GSEA is an opportunity for student entrepreneurs to compete as the next great, new business—think "Shark Tank" for students. The winner will receive $10,000.
CHICAGO, IL, July 30, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Everywhere Wireless and the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) announces the second annual Global Student Entrepreneur Awards ("GSEA") event, dubbed as the Celebration of Entrepreneurship. Last year, the inaugural event attracted over 400 professionals and entrepreneurs, including a panel of celebrity judges and speakers including Rob Katz of BOKA Restaurant Group, Max Temkin of Cards Against Humanity, and Rich Labriola of Stan's Donuts, to name a few. This year, the Chicago GSEA competition, the Celebration of Entrepreneurship: Drinks, Food & Experience Sharing, will be hosted at the West Loop's Moonlight Studios, located at 1446 W. Kinzie St., on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
The GSEA event is an opportunity for four student entrepreneurs to compete as the next great, new business—think "Shark Tank" for students. The winner will receive $10,000 and the opportunity to represent Chicago at the National GSEA ceremony. Undergraduate and graduate students are provided a platform to present their company in front of hundreds of entrepreneurs, a panel of celebrity judges and to receive invaluable feedback from some of Chicago's most successful businesspeople. Student business owners determined to take their company to the next level are encouraged to apply. To learn more about this amazing opportunity and to apply, visit the EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards website, gsea.org/apply.
This event will be an amazing opportunity to network and to seek mentorship from some of Chicago's most influential entrepreneurs. This year's panel of judges and speakers already includes: Rick Bayless, Chef and Restauranteur (Frontera), Diane Primo, Chairman & CEO (IntraLink Global), Lisa Davidson, Vice Chairman (Savills), Howard Tullman, Executive Director (The Kaplan Institute, and former CEO of 1871), Audie Attar, Founder and President (Paradigm Sports Management, LLC), Fabio Viviani, Chef and Restauranteur (DineAmic Group), and Rajen Shastri, Founder and CEO (Akara Partners), with more speakers to be announced over the weeks to come. Last year's event sold out, so for more information on how to attend, compete, participate, or sponsor this extraordinary event, click here.
To qualify to compete, student entrepreneurs must have operated a company for a minimum of 6 months and generated at least $500 in revenue. This event could launch a developing business and put it on the map as a serious contender in the entrepreneurial world. The finalist will compete at the national event with a chance to move onto the Global GSEA Finals, along with winning a $10,000 cash prize to invest into their business and 6 mentoring sessions with EO Chicago. All of this could lead to a shot at a prize package of $20,000 cash and total value of more than $400,000!
