As Director Matthew Coussens explains, the accreditation process was far from easy – but by working towards ISO 9001, he and his team have greatly improved the company's internal operations and given Milestone an indisputable competitive edge.

"Going through the assessment process with the BSI has encouraged us to look closely at the systems we employ in-house," he says. "We were pleasantly surprised by the results from our stage 1 assessment, but we knew that further improvements could be made to improve team productivity and keep costs down across the board.

"By working closely with our Assessor, we identified the areas within our business that needed addressing and reshaping, and we have since introduced new measures that ensure our management systems and processes meet the stringent requirements of the standard."

However, as Matthew identifies, the hard work doesn't end as soon as the certification has been issued.
