"Bolder Industries rejects the common refrain in our industry that there's only one way to break down a tire." Tony Wibbeler, CEO Bolder Industries
BOULDER, CO, November 21, 2019 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bolder Industries CEO, Tony Wibbeler, will speak on a panel at the 8th Scrap Tire Conference hosted by The Scrap Tire Research and Education Foundation, Inc. (STREF), the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA), Michelin North America, and the South Carolina Department of Commerce being held December 4-5, 2019, in Greenville, SC. Mr. Wibbler's panel will focus not only on Pyrolysis but on what can be reconfigured into products customers want as part of this process. His panel presentation will take place on December 4, 2019.
"We are pleased to welcome Tony Wibbeler to share his extensive knowledge at this year's Conference," said John Sheerin, Director, End of Life Tire Programs. "We are featuring top-tier speakers and exhibits from companies who are leading the charge in the future of scrap tire applications."
"Bolder Industries rejects the common refrain in our industry that there's only one way to break down a tire. We know and have proven, that waste tires can be converted into a 100% sustainable solution for carbon black and turned into products that customers and consumers are clamoring for -- sustainable rubber and plastics – with zero-waste. This combined with other efforts such as crumb rubber devulcanization and working with existing companies in our space can offer benefits for the entire supply chain. This is a conversation about the products we can create, together, not only the process of re-creating materials," said Tony Wibbeler, CEO of Bolder Industries.
Mr. Wibbeler will be joined on the panel by Dave Abdallah, VP of Sales & Marketing, Delta-Energy Group, and Tom Redd, CEO, Pyrolyx USA, Inc. to discuss the use of pyrolysis presenting opportunities to extract materials inputs from tires and using the materials for other purposes, advancing a principle of circular economy; minimizing waste. The discussion will draw a focus on current pyrolysis technologies that exist and present an opportunity to hear from market experts about expansion and future growth prospects.
STREF is devoted to promoting economically viable and environmentally sound uses for scrap tires through conferences, workshops, and other focused venues. The non-profit organization, founded in 1992, operates in cooperation with the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) and was established to support basic and applied research and educational activities on the proper management and use of scrap tires.
This year's conference, which is being co-sponsored by STREF, the S.C. Department of Commerce, Michelin, and the USTMA will focus on scrap tire markets in a sustainable, circular economy. The USTMA's members have the goal that 100% of scrap tires enter sustainable end-use markets. USTMA began its scrap tire program in 1990 and the management of scrap tires has been a priority of its members for almost three decades.

About Bolder Industries
Bolder Industries develops the most sustainable rubber and plastic products in the world using Bolder Black®. Bolder Industries converts unwanted tires into desirable carbon black & petroleum -- with 0 waste. After years in R&D, they've perfected a carbon black alternative that replaces petroleum-derived carbon black as a rubber filler and a black pigment in plastics and is 100% produced from post-consumer or post-industrial tires and rubber scrap.
Bolder Industries was founded out of a rejection of the status quo within the conventional recycling industry. Concerned that traditional recycling methods ignored greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, electricity consumption and the destination of the "recycled" raw materials while recycling rates were increasing, the landfill consumption was not reduced at a similar rate. Their mission is to solve this problem while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, and the use of electricity while creating local jobs. The passion for the mission has created a series of technological developments and patents focused on the waste tire problem. While there were many waste streams to address, tire waste is Bolder Industries' focus.
• Founded in 2011, Bolder Industries was born when our CEO, Tony Wibbeler, was running landfills and recycling centers and realized how energy and water-intensive typical recycling was, as well as how little material was being diverted from landfills.
• Bolder Industries has evolved into a product company focusing on sustainable materials in the rubber and plastic industries.
• Flagship product: Bolder Black, is a carbon black alternative that replaces petroleum-derived carbon black as a rubber filler and a black pigment in plastics and is 100% produced from post-consumer or post-industrial tires and rubber scrap.
• Mission: divert more solid waste from landfilling and incineration than any other single effort in North America.
• Between the rubber and plastic industries, the total growth of the recovered carbon black market is expected to soar to over a billion pounds per year.
• Bolder Black uses 90%+ less water and emits 90%+ fewer greenhouse gasses than traditional carbon black
• Bolder Black is a specialty chemical, and therefore our technical team provides unlimited support at our compounding lab to incorporate it into rubbers and plastics.
