This week, they celebrate their 4-year professional anniversary with Blood Moon Pictures, doing just that, making independent films with a genre that is climbing the charts in the world of entertainment. Starks is the creator of their award winning franchise, Volumes of Blood and head writer. Huskisson his producing partner, who keeps the focus on the more technical aspects of film production. Together, they have created a successful partnership. Presently, they find themselves in pre-production with their 3rd independent film, 'Devil's Knight'. They have labored against all 'Hollywood Entertainment' odds, and have experienced success with film production in their hometown of Owensboro, KY. In addition, they are happy to say, the community continues to embrace them.

"We have expanded our budget for our new film, which will dictate increased production quality," states Starks. "We are proud of what we have accomplished and where we are headed."

Blood Moon Pictures continues to flourish in Owensboro, and they are closely following the Kentucky Film and Entertainment tax incentives, so they may extend their efforts to bring quality production to the area. With some amazing connections developing in Hollywood, Starks and Huskisson are determined to intensify their efforts to bring more of the film industry home.

"It is our hope that we can preserve and grow the flow of affordable, quality filmmaking here in Owensboro," remarks Huskisson. "Now, with the support of the Kentucky Film and Entertainment office, we are more than optimistic for our futures."

Blood Moon Pictures paved the way for independent film production in the Owensboro area with nearly 30 years experience having produced many independent projects, commercial productions and public events.

With ventures such as The River City Festival of Films that presented actor/director Peter Weller, the annual film series Unscripted hosted by the Daviess County Public Library and their award winning, critically acclaimed and internationally recognized anthology film franchise; the sky is the limit with what is possible. Blood Moon Pictures is a grass roots effort that continues to grow and expand their brand.
