We have a responsibility to ensure that our students, partners, and trainers are not put in harm's way.
ALBUQUERQUE, NM, March 24, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Since nearly the beginning of the year, the EC-Council management team has been tracking the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak situation. To manage the potential impact of this disease on its student community, EC-Council is encouraging students to switch to online learning to ensure learning continuity.
EC-Council is set to deliver online training via award-winning trainers from their locations around the country. Simultaneously, EC-Council is also encouraging students to utilize their webinar hub to get more information on trending topics. The webinars are presented by industry leaders who share their experience on various cybersecurity issues.
"We recognize the cyber community has a very important role to play during this crisis. While we battle the pandemic, we must also do everything within our control to empower others and ensure that organizations do not take cybersecurity lightly, which could lead to threat actors causing more harm. There have already been headlines about healthcare organizations being hit with DDOS attacks and malware, showing that cybercriminals are taking advantage of the chaos and are continuing to exploit vulnerabilities wherever they can. Cybersecurity is more important than ever, especially now when so many workforces are suddenly working remotely for the first time," says Jay Bavisi, President and CEO of EC-Council.
To help with travel restrictions and temporary business closures, EC-Council has extended the life of any exam voucher currently held by students by 90 days at no extra cost. In addition, EC-Council is offering free 30-day subscriptions to its video-based learning source, CodeRed. The platform hosts over 1,500 high quality cybersecurity videos bundled with 25 socially curated cybersecurity courses from over 15 leading global industry experts.
Th further assist students, EC-Council is offering a 90-day extension by request to those who have purchased or redeemed iLabs, EC-Council's online lab environment, access on or after January 1, 2020. EC-Council will continue to track the developments of the COVID-19 situation and will make further arrangements should the situation require it.
"We have a responsibility to ensure that our students, partners, and trainers are not put in harm's way. We are doing our best to ensure business continuity for our partners and learning continuity for our students. We have been taking all possible steps to keep our students and business safe, informed, and prepared," said Sean Lin, COO of EC-Council.
