PHOENIX, AZ, April 15, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On April 8, ETMA, the Enterprise Technology Management Association, held its first Town Hall Meeting in the age of COVID-19, or the "Coronavirus". The goals for the session were to bring people together, share successes and challenges, inspire perseverance, and identify new potential business partner opportunities. These objectives align closely with the core values of ETMA include idea exchange, peer learning, sharing and networking.
More than 18 guest speakers and nearly 100 participants came together for a video conference. There were two main themes discussing the most compelling drivers for new business: cost savings and enablement of a quick transition to a remote workforce for large enterprise clients, government entities and smaller organizations. Members also discussed how their individual businesses adapted to having employees work remotely.
Charlie Yielding, CEO of G Squared Wireless asserted that, "it says a lot about the industry we work in that so many people were willing to join a call and share the trials as well as silver linings during these trying times. So many companies have similar, yet individual responses that allow me to see that we are all in this together. I could not be more proud of the ETMA community for accepting and reacting accordingly to the social responsibility we share due to COVID-19."
Mark Hearn CEO and President of Network Control and ETMA President said, "clients are really focused on cost savings. This includes evaluation of services that can be eliminated, pausing unused services, contract negotiation and or renegotiation to reduce expenses. We are also helping clients understand how service cancelations from office closures and staff reductions may impact Early Termination Fee (ETF) exposure. In the current environment, it all comes down to identifying any and all areas to help clients reduce their monthly operating expenses.
Robert Morcos, Founder and CEO for Social Mobile and ETMA 2019 Innovation Award winner for work within the Android Enterprise ecosystem said, "it is exciting to hear new clients' game plan to not only weather this storm, but to also come out the other side of it with a more robust, resilient long-term strategy."
Sean Tario, Founder and Managing Partner for Open Spectrum said, "The drastic jump in network, compute, storage capacity due to billions of people around the world working and learning remotely and spending time chatting online and streaming has our industry working overtime. This said, the data center and cloud services industries was truly built to address these unprecedented times delivering mission critical services. I feel blessed and proud ever day to be in this industry and work alongside so many dedicated professionals keeping the brave new digital world alive right now."
Leveraging the success of the Town Hall meeting, ETMA will schedule two recurring video calls each month to help promote remote e-Learning. Future sessions will feature guest speakers and member insights to focus on best practices and thought leadership. In addition, a second call each month will feature a "Virtual Happy Hour" which will seek to brighten people's mood and promote networking and potential business alliances. The video conferences will be open to members and non-members. Register for the next call.
Solutions Providers set the agenda and priorities for ETMA. The Executive Board helps to ensure that all actions are designed to serve member companies, not to profit from them.
