"We wanted everything on this new menu to reflect our unique imprimatur. As part of the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel, the city's only AAA Four Diamond hotel, diners expect turn-of-the-century charm with a modern edge," says Farid Mellah, Director of Operations.

For starters, Tempura Lobster Tail comes with a trio of sauces, New Orleans Amber BBQ Shrimp is served with stone-ground grits and an herb salad, and Braised Short Ribs have celery root and parsnip puree with micro mustard greens.

Whet your appetite with more than a half-dozen appealing salads at this Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania hotel restaurant, including Roasted Beet Napoleon, New Jersey Ugli Ripe Tomato Salad and the Deconstructed Wedge. Corn and Crab Chowder and Smoked Chicken and Roasted Red Pepper Soup take the chill off cool spring days.

An award-winning wine list accompanies a continental-inspired menu of succulent steaks, chops, poultry, seafood and pasta, creating a pairing of bold flavors in a charming atmosphere. African Sapelle wood paneling and a colorful fresco of Renaissance instruments by artist John Manders envelop a serene setting of tables and banquettes.

Opus' signature steak is the Beef Tenderloin Filet, grilled and served with Caramelized Onion and Applewood Bacon Compote. Alaskan Halibut is slow-poached in extra virgin olive oil with candied shallots, lemon and fresh herbs. Lobster and Shiitake Mushroom Ravioli are folded into fresh cream sauce with English peas and pea tendrils. Horseradish crust and smoked tomato beurre blanc give Atlantic Salmon a kick, while Free-Range Chicken is pan-seared and served with tomato and tarragon relish.

Forget bland starches ... at Opus even the side dishes are enticing. Mashed potatoes are flavored with your choice of lobster, caramelized onion or Boursin cheese. Other exceptional options include Rosemary Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Spicy Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Thai Purple Sticky Rice.
