DALLAS, TX, June 03, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- WebCE®, the industry leader in online continuing education and license exam prep, is excited to announce the launch of the Annual Federal Tax Refresher (AFTR) course for the 2021 Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP). The course will be available online from June 1 – December 31, 2020.
WebCE is an IRS-approved AFSP continuing education provider. The IRS AFSP program is intended to recognize unenrolled tax return preparers who want to voluntarily improve their tax knowledge and filing season competency through continuing education. Those who complete the requirements for the Annual Filing Season Program will be issued a Record of Completion (AFSP – RoC). In order to receive their AFSP – RoC, participants must complete 18 hours of continuing education, including the 6-hour Annual Federal Tax Refresher (AFTR) course.
Tax preparers receive several benefits for earning their AFSP – RoC, including professional credibility, becoming more discoverable to clients by being listed on the IRS's Federal Tax Return Preparers directory. An AFSP – RoC also gives tax preparers limited representation rights, allowing them to represent clients before revenue agents, customer service representatives and similar IRS employees.
WebCE is proud to offer a variety of tax preparer CE and CPE courses satisfying the Annual Filing Season Program requirements. The online tax CE courses are always up-to-date and cover a variety of topics including ethics, federal tax law updates and specialized federal tax topics. Taking online courses with WebCE also takes the stress and guesswork out of participating in the AFSP with convenient online courses, printable certificates of completion, and next-day reporting to the IRS.
