LOS ANGELES, CA, July 03, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On Saturday, July 4, medical marijuana patients and activists will be putting together a virtual event to celebrate the 50th year of the White House Smoke In. The celebration will feature music performances and an impressive roster of guest speakers - including Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ+ Activist, Paul Scott and many more..
The 50th Annual Smoke In Virtual Event is sponsored by The Compassion Co. and is hosted by former county HIV/AIDS commissioner, Richard Eastman. "This is our celebration of fifty years of courage, faith, and hope," said Eastman "that the federal government will one day deschedule marijuana as a medicine."
The all-day event will feature performances by Tequila Mockingbird, and other unannounced acts. Organizers describe the event as, "eight hours of eclectic entertainment with speeches, film, and surprises." Local cannabis vendors and dispensaries will join the virtual event as well.. Organizers are planning for an interactive event, broadcasting the events in Washington D.C to Los Angeles.
"I hope this is a chance for everyone who has worked so hard to celebrate what we have achieved, and get motivated to finish compassion work," Eastman said. He added that the celebration is to showcase the cannabis community and fight for cannabis freedom.
"It's important to legalize cannabis so that research funding can be utilized to unlock many more of the plant's medicinal applications," says Ali Ganji, founder of Compassion Co.
The 50th Annual Smoke In Virtual Event is scheduled to start at 9:30 AM at BARC 432 S San Vicente Blvd #100, Los Angeles, CA with words from Paul Scott, Richard Eastman, and Richard Marcella, and will end at 4:20 PM on Saturday, July 4.
