ATLANTA, GA, July 29, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Picture Perfect team recently held the honor of working with the iconic Patti LaBelle in Philadelphia, her hometown. Director, Willie Giles, commented on his experience working with the star. "We gravitated to Patti; The crew, the producers, myself. We felt her pull. We heard her truth. Miss LaBelle speaks from the heart and conveys the deepest expression of compassion as she urges us to seek vitality and screen for cancer."
Now more than ever, health is an imperative talking point amongst those we love. Picture Perfect filmed the amazing Patti LaBelle as she compassionately discussed her personal experiences with health, cancer, and communicating the importance of seeking out medical care over the years with her family. Some very important values were discussed that Ms LaBelle holds close to her heart. Yet there were 3 things Patti Labelle shared that stuck out in particular that she wants you to know when it comes to your health.
#1) She strongly urges those over 40 to prioritize their health and undergo regular cancer screenings in hopes of saving lives through early detection.
#2 LaBelle has lost 3 of her sisters to cancer and has a personal connection to the message.
#3 The star has partnered with 2 non-profits and the efficient covid compliant crew at Picture Perfect to raise awareness for #timetoscreen
It's clear that this cause is near and dear to her heart, as Patti endured the tragedy of losing three of her sisters to cancer. She expressed her fears for her own mortality, petrified she would not make it to 50. The now 77 year-old has partnered with cancer non-profits to relay the message and importance of going in for regular cancer screenings.
Picture Perfect Productions Director, who's also the 'director of photography' Willie Giles made a personal connection with the Godmother of Soul herself discussing the importance of screening for cancer as we grow older and wiser.
"Staying current on recommended screenings is essential to maintaining your health. I've learned timing is everything in life and right now, it's time to take control of your health," said LaBelle. "I know what it's like to lose loved ones far too early to cancer. Don't wait until it's too late. I tell everyone, 'Honey, it's time to get screened." Patti LaBelle is happy to be the one to tell someone the hard truth. As we get older it's so hard to reconcile the fact that we must focus on our health more and more. When we have the support and the gentle reminder, it gets a little easier.
The crew raved about the experience, exclaiming that LaBelle's energy was contagious, and her message was moving and compelling. "LaBelle embraced our team as family, and we felt it," says Senior Producer, Chelsea Philips Tafoya.
Many of the Picture Perfect team found themselves reaching out to their loved ones to start a conversation about their health. Patti spoke from the heart and delivered a message straight to the soul. It's hard not to be moved by the singer and her passions.
Our teams walked away from the experience feeling energized by the synergy created during the filming process. Patti was very complimentary of the Picture Perfect Production team and the professionalism embodied in every action taken throughout the process. The connection between the icon and the crew is not one to be easily forgotten.
